Honeymoon Booked

Finally, we've booked flights for our honeymoon!

We're going to Tasmania, flying into Hobart on the 25th and back from Launceston on Wednesday 5th.

Some of the things we would like to do include:

the West Coast Wilderness Railway
the Gordon River Cruise (incredibly slow site to load!)
Cradle Mountain

Since its my honeymoon, I'm planning to take the expensive options ... I'm especially looking forward to the railroad. I'd love to go on one of the long train trips but they are stupidly expensive - so the day trip will have to satisfy me for a while.

4 1/2 weeks ...

Last weekend the fashion horse (aka Cameron) got his suit ... so that's luckily one less thing to worry about!

Mandy also found her dress and I ordered my jewellery.

We still have to order wedding rings ... but other than that, we are close to done! An effort on Saturday should see us over the line. Hooray!!

Kartell Dreaming??

Charles Ghost - Stool
designer: Starck, Philippe

design year: 2005

description: With a shape reminscent of 1800 design, the Charles Ghost is an icon of the classic stool. Elongated and rounded lines make this work immediately recognizable as that of designer Philippe Starck. The stool height version would make a great addition to any space where you need additional seating.

Bourgie Lamp - Clear Transparent
designer: Laviani, Ferruccio

design year: 2004

description: Bourgie is a lamp that will create strong, magical emotions. Thanks to the play on light and reflections, it will enchant and draw everyone's eyes with a magnetic power. It becomes the protagonist, but at the same time it gives everyone the freedom to dream of their heart's desires. Bourgie, with its anachronistic appearance, echoes the baroque lamp. Bourgie is the result of the revolutionary invention of using entirely transparent polycarbonate. On one hand, there is classicality, richness and tradition, and on the other, innovation, transparency and irony. The quality of the material and its extremely high quality processing makes it look like a precious, crystal lamp. The base in baroque style is composed of three decorated layers that cross over each other, and the large shade is made with a pleated effect in order to create, when lit, a play on a thousand reflections. Bourgie is destined to become another cult project for design enthusiasts. It adapts perfectly to every décor, giving irony but also richness, ready to match classic or modern styles, ready to fit into any environment and giving everyone the capacity to dream. Bourgie is adjustable to three height variations with the spacers provided.

Louis Ghost Chair Clear + Transparent Colors
designer: Starck, Philippe

design year: 2002

description: Wow! An anachronistic shape is recontextualized with a space-age transparent polycarbonate. These are truly spectacular no matter if you use a couple in an entrance hall or several around any table. Destined to be a classic; recently featured in the NY Times.

Due to popular demand the Crystal Louis Ghost is currently on back order, and will arrive in our warehouse early March 2006.

Fink water jug, glasses or tray - I'm not fussy!

The Jug was F!NK's first product. It is now regarded as the flagship of the collection and has been described as an Australian design icon. The success of the Jug, can be partially attributed to the fact that it is found in the best restaurants throughout capital cities in Australia and New Zealand.

Through the investigation of an appropriate production process for the Jug, Foster has invented a unique and unconventional pressing process that allows the formation of such organic forms. Each jug requires three separate pressing stages before a bottom is welded on. Each jug is then hand abraded and sandblasted before it is anodised. The jugs are hand polished taking approximately two hours each through a series of three polishing processes.

jensen door bell

A unique, and often overlooked piece of design. The Doorbell features five different, specially composed, high quality polyphonic tunes. Additionally, it offers a special tune designed for the hard-of-hearing. A single chime can be activated with an unlimited number of bell triggers within a 150 metre radius of the chime. Different chimes can be set for each trigger (for each door) so you know exactly where your guests are waiting.

The Chime is designed to be wall mounted as well as free standing, enabling the user to bring it where needed within the working distance of 150 meters.

ames the doorman

The perfect gentleman - always holding the door open - he is destined for a long and stylish career. A great deal of thought and energy has gone into perfecting these coloured doorstops. Made of natural rubber, but looking like cast iron, James will not mark the floor if he gets knocked over, but he is designed to be strong and stable when his foot is wedged under a door.

He is 19cm tall.
